Banarasi silk. Heavy, noble, woven in the ancient city of Varanasi — where every pattern remembers the hands of masters, and every thread breathes history. Upon it — embroidery in gold thread. Not merely a pattern, but dawn itself: the first rays touching palace domes, gold poured across the Eastern sky. Complex, meticulous work, where each stitch is a brushstroke, each curl the breath of morning.
Inside — silk batiste. Fine, weightless, almost transparent. It settles against the skin like a second breath, like morning coolness after a warm night. But the true treasure lies in the encrustation. Gemstones, set into the fabric using the Sashiko technique, woven in, integrated into the very structure of the silk. Each stone is held by dozens of microscopic stitches, creating an effect of suspension — as if the jewels were not attached, but woven together with the cloth.
And velvet. On a silk base — soft, deep, almost alive. It appears where the body meets the robe: at the collar, the cuffs, along the placket.
The lining — toile. A dense, noble, breathable fabric that holds the shape, never letting the robe lose its silhouette. It is the foundation upon which this imperial construction rests.
Six months. Half a year during which brought this piece to life.
