Reversible traditional robe “Empress Gardens”

Empress Gardens is a reversible traditional robe that brings together the softness of cashmere and the subtle lustre of handwoven mulberry silk. Its two sides reveal contrasting moods: a flowering garden against smoky grey and the quiet depth of muted blue.

The 100% cashmere side is embellished with hand embroidery. Sky-blue, silvery lilac and pale pistachio flowers and branches trail along the front panels, bloom across the wide sleeves and form a small bouquet on the back. A delicate ornamental border frames the edges, lending definition to the relaxed silhouette. Against the matte cashmere, the texture of the stitches invites a closer look, tracing each curve of a leaf.

The botanical motifs and emphasis on handcraft evoke the floral embroidery seen in Valentino and Dior couture. The long, gently falling silhouette also recalls ceremonial court dress, where the dignity of the form mattered as much as the richness of the decoration. Here, that grandeur becomes intimate: a soft palette, tactile cashmere and finely embroidered branches take the place of gold and glitter.

Reverse the robe to reveal blue handwoven mulberry silk. Its distinctive texture and gentle shifts of lustre create a more understated mood, while narrow contrasting trim defines the edges.

The long, relaxed silhouette and wide sleeves leave room to move. Wear either side over a simple dress or a top and trousers, allowing the fabrics and handwork to become the focal point.
